American Student finds success with Bulgarian Vocal Method
The Bulgarian Vocal School system for classical singing continues to prove its undeniable high quality of training methodology.
This time the young and talented Ananya Gurumurthy, age 13, won second place for voice in the prestigious American Protege International Vocal Competition. Ananya is trained by world renowned opera singer Anna Veleva, who teaches her students using the classical voice training method established in Bulgaria by the famous composer and vocal pedagogue Professor Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin.
Professor Cherkin developed the voices of world-class singers such as Ljuba Welitsch, Anna Tomova-Sintow, Ljubomir Panchev and others who are among some of the leading names in the history of opera.
The Winners Recital of the American Protege competition will take place at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, July 5th at 7:30pm. There we will have the pleasure of hearing Ananya Gurumurthy perform “Alleluia” from Exsultate Jubilate by Mozart.
