What does Love mean?

A group of professionals asked a group of children aged 4 to 8:

′′ What does Love mean?

The answers they got were broader, deeper and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

☆ ′′ When my grandma had arthritis, she couldn’t bend over to paint her foot nails…

So my grandpa does it all the time for her even when her hands also got arthritis. That’s it, love.

Rebecca-8 years old

☆ ′′ Love,

is when a girl puts perfume and a boy cologne for shaving and they go out to feel.

Karl-5 years old

☆ ′′ Love,

it’s when you go out to eat and give someone most of your fries without making them give them their own.

Chrissy-6 years old

☆ ′′ Love,

is when my mom makes coffee for my dad and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is good.

Danny-8 years old

this is what’s in the room at Christmas if you stop opening presents and just listen.

it’s when you tell a guy you like his shirt, and they wear it everyday.

I was on a stage and scared.

I looked at all the people looking at me and saw my dad waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing this.

I was no longer afraid.

Cindy-8 years old

☆ ′′ My mommy loves me more than anyone.

You don’t see nobody else kissing me to sleep at night.

Clare-6 years old

that’s when mom gives dad the best piece of chicken.

this is when mom sees dad stinky and sweaty and she still says he’s better than Robert Redford.

it’s when your puppy licks your face even after you leave him alone all day.

☆ ′′ I know my big sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and needs to go out and buy new ones.

your lashes go up and down and small stars come out of you.

this is when mom sees dad on the toilet and she doesn’t find it disgusting.

☆ ′′ You shouldn’t say I love you unless you think so. But if you think so, you have to say it often. People forget.

The winner was a four-year-old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly man who had just lost his wife. Seeing the man crying,

Baby boy went into the old mister’s yard, climbed into his lap and sat there.

When his mother asked him what he said to the neighbor, the little boy replied:

′′ Nothing, I just helped him cry.
