ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Fifteen-year-old native New York violinist Ari Boutris is a scholarship student of Patinka Kopec at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, and an Omega Ensemble Next Generation Artist.
Ari has performed as soloist with Moskovia String Orchestra, Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, Camellia Symphony Orchestra, Czech Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Stamford Youth Philharmonic, Seniors Orchestral Society, and with MSM Pre-College Symphony, and MSM Concert Orchestra. Other performances include: Columbia University and Trinity Wall Street series, NYC, and various venues in New York, New Jersey, and California. He has been featured on WQXR Young Artists Showcase and Israel Radio.
Ari’s most recent performances include concerts at the Krzyzowa Music Festival, Poland, and the Moskovia String Orchestra, Israel, Adelphi Orchestra, New Jersey, and solo recitals in Sacramento and at MSM, a NYC concert for Keshet Eilon’s 25th Anniversary, an Omega Ensemble trio performance with cellist Brook Speltz and pianist Dominic Cheli, and an Omega Ensemble performance with pianist Reiko Uchida.
Ari has won 1st prizes in the Adelphi Orchestra competition, NYC, the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic competition, Connecticut, the Lyra Music Competition, NYC, and twice the MSM Pre-College Concerto competition, NYC. He has participated in Master Classes by Mihaela Martin, Ivry Gitlis, Glenn Dicterow, David Kim, and Ani Kavafian. In addition to his studies with Patinka Kopec, Ari also takes lessons with Pinchas Zukerman and Koichiro Harada.
Ari began his studies with Dorothy Kaplan Roffman at the JCC Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly.
Over past summers, Ari has attended the Greenwood Music Camp, the Canada National Arts Center Summer Music Institute Young Artists Program, Keshet Eilon International String Master Course, and the Krzyzowa Music Festival.
Ari plays on a fine Amati violin generously provided by The Beares International Violin Society through J&A Beare Ltd, London.
