Set in 1944 Eastern Europe, Lost in Space tells the story of six diverse characters hiding in an abandoned mine during World War II. Gypsy performer ‘Maria Lili Marlene Dietrich’, former Nazi turned right-winger ‘Adolph’, marijuana-addicted communist ‘Christian’, mushroom-addicted Nazi ‘Otto’ and homosexual lovers ‘Benjamin’ and ‘Vincenzo’ live out their days in hallucinations, fleeting moments of fancy and recollections of past glory. When ‘Rick’, a fast talking African-American items dealer appears and offers them a way to escape the mine, the characters must choose between their isolated comfort or an uncertain fate in a war-torn world.

Exceptionally Claustrophobic

Never been in a mine before. Especially during WWII. This play makes you live in one, becoming part of the characters and get attached to their stories. Lost In Space is a war story seen from the underground by people who are enemies for their ideologies but deeply so similar. With such an energetic cast get ready to cry and laugh.
A Brand New Experience. A Balkan One.

I have no words that can grasp the multitude of this pure Balkan production. It’s insanely hilarious, deeply authentic, and genuinely one of a kind. First of it’ s kind. I really like Adolf’s father like attitude which is targeted towards Otto, our insane yet smart underdog who is addicted to mushrooms. I really enjoyed this play.

First Intro to Balkan Theater

What a phenomenal show. I could not look away. The script, actors and incredible set design and music made me believe that I was in the bunker with the characters. At times I almost felt claustrophobic. I felt the war, I felt the tension, I felt I was with them during the war. The actor playing Otto was phenomenal. He clearly illustrated the difference between European and American acting. His emotions changed from moment to moment and he took just the right amount of time for each beat (phenomenal acting or direction, I do not know). the use of the sand was ingenious. Something so simple helped make the set believable Bravo to all involved
