Petar Ralchev (accordion) is one of the brightest stars on the contemporary Bulgarian music scene. The founder of a unique performing style which he describes as “virtuosity, melodiousness, rich harmony and improvisation,” he is an inspiration for many young accordionists around the world today. The members of the band are the youngest generation of artists, who have migrated to the “New World” carrying with them an incredible treasure: knowledge, attitude and skills deeply rooted in the old village traditions of their home country, yet polished through intensive training in elite professional schools and enriched by the musical traditions of other parts of the world. The result is music, which is intricate and mesmerizing: solid in its foundation, yet eclectic and versatile.

Петър Ралчев (акордеон) е една от най-ярките звезди на съвременната българска музикална сцена. Създател на уникален стил, който той описва като „виртуозност, мелодичност, богата хармония и импровизация”, той е източник на вдъхновение за много млади акордеонисти по света днес. Останалите членове на квартета са представители на най-младото поколение творци eмигрирали в „Новия Свят” и пренесли със себе си ценно съкровище: знания, умения и опит, коренящи се дълбоко в традициите на българското старо село. Същевременно с това, те са преминали през интензивно обучение в елитни музикални школи и са обогатени от музикалните традиции и на други части на света. It is about the role of the early Bulgarian state for the conservation of work of the Holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, as well as the contribution of new Bulgarian alphabet for the medieval Christian civilization.

Soprano Anna Veleva has received international acclaim as one of today’s most gifted and versatile opera stars. She has been recognized internationally for her opera and concert performances. Recent highlights include Verdi’s “La Traviata”, “Rigoletto”, Puccini’s “La Boheme”, Bizet’s “Carmen”, Rossini’s “The Barber of Siviglia” and Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” produced by Columbia Artists Management. Едва в зората на своята кариера, вече е галеник на международната критика, която я определя като “Новата оперна надежда”. Брилянтното сопрано от седем години живее в Манхатън,и вече прави успешна кариера на няколко континента. Ангажиментите й включват участя в Америка, Япония, Германия, Австрия, Швеицария, Полша и Българиа. В Япония освен концертните си изяви, младата изпълнителка преподава пеене и води майсторски клас във университета във Фукушима. Концертните й изяви включват участия с Националната Софииска опера, Бургаска, Пловдивска и Варненска опера. Над петстотин са и участиата й в рецитали и концерти, някои от които в Националниа дворец на културата в Софиа, Сунтори Хол в Япония, “Фокс Тиътър” в Атланта една от най- големите сцени в Америка, както и дебютен концерт в Карнеги Хол. Kalin Ivanov, cellist, is a prominent soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Compared by the press to Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, Piatigorsky and Jacqueline du Pré he is quickly gaining recognition as an artist whose “dramatic urgency and expressive tone” (The STRAD) is matched by “His deep, emotional, and poetic performing style” (Moscow North). The former music critic of the New York Times, Harris Goldsmith states that”…Ivanov presents himself as a player with a fine grained, luscious tone…” (New York Concert Review). The WORLD PANORAMA (Bulgaria) wrote: “…Kalin Ivanov is a phenomenon in the palette of the most talented musicians” and Musical Opinion (UK) confirmed: “one of the most celebrated cellists of his generation.” A winner of the C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival Concerto Competition, he has performed in major performing centers in Bulgaria, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, England, Russia, Caribbean Islands and the U.S. Mr. Ivanov solo performances include appearances with the top Bulgarian orchestras including: Sofia Philharmonic, Sinfonietta-Sofia, Plovdiv Philharmonic, Varna Philharmonic, as well as Prague Sinfonietta, Moscow chamber orchestra – “Cantus Firmus”, Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, Manhattan Virtuosi and Ensemble du Monde – Chamber Orchestras, and others. One of today’s most loved Bulgarian rock bands, DIANA EXPRESS, will present their new double album” The Power of Thought”. DIANA EXPRESS will debut in New York and will continue its tour throughout the U.S. and Canada. The concerts are dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Bulgarian Literacy and Culture, May 24th. Diana Express was established in 1974. Over the years of their successful performance, many talented young artists began their career. Among those artists are some of the most beloved performers of the Bulgarian pop scene: Vassil Naidenov, Georgi Stanchev, Ilija Angelov, Chocho Vladovski, and Yuksel Ahmedov. From 1974 to 1984 permanent members of Diana Express are Mitko Shterev, Maxim Goranov, Tzvetan Banov, Nikolai Kardzhilov and Iliya Angelov. In this period the band released several albums — Diana Express (1974), Diana Express (1976), Molitva za Dujd (Preyer for Rain) (1981), Zlatna Jabulka (Golden Apple) (1983), Diana Express V (1984). During this period “Sineva,” “Dusha,”( Soul) ”Blues za Dvama,”( Blues for Two) “Molitva za Dujd,” “Severina” are some of the most remarkable songs that the band had created. In 2010, Diana Express made a come back with several new members in the band. Maxim Goranov – guitar, Tzvetan Banov – drums, Valeri Konov – keyboards, Coco Kardzhilov – bass guitar and Milen Mechinski – vocals, produced by Inteligent Music. In the same year they also recorded a new album in 2010, The Power of Thought.

Диана Експрес е легендарна българска рок група, създадена през 1974 год.За десет години през групата дефилират млади музикални надежди, които в последствие стават едни от най-големите звезди на българската поп сцена. Между тях са Васил Найденов, Георги Станчев, Илия Ангелов, Чочо Владовски, Юксел Ахмедов. Сред най-популярните песни на групата са Синева, Душа, Блус за двама, Молитва за дъжд, Северина и много други, любими на българската публика и до днес. Диана Експрес активно развива своята концертна и изпълнителска дейност в периода 1976 -1984, като нейни постоянни членове са Митко Щерев, Максим Горанов, Цветан Банов, Живко Топалов Кърджилов, Илия Ангелов. Най-значимите албуми от този период са: Молитва за дъжд/1981, Златна ябълка/1983, Диана Експрес V/1984. През 2010 г. Диана Експрес се събра отново под продуцентството на Inteligent Music, с подновен състав в който влизат Максим Горанов – китара, Цветан Банов – барабани, Валери Конов – клавишни, Коко Кърджилов – бас китара и най-новото попълнение вокалиста Младен Мечински. Групата записва с подновена енергия и едногодишен неуморен труд двойния албум Площад Синева. Първата част на албума Завръщане звучи в характерния за групата мелодичен хард рок, обогатен с нови елементи и музикалн идеи, разкриващи неувяхващия творческия потенциал на музикантите. Знакови за групата и българския рок поети участват в тази част на албума – Иля Велчев, Даниела Кузманова, Волен Николаев, както и младата и талантлива Гергана Добрева. Втората част на албума Силата на мисълта е концептуален рок албум, разработен в класическа сонатна форма от автора на текстовете, музиката и аранжиментите – продуцента Милен Врабевски. Музикалното и вербално послание открива истината за човешкия стремеж към успех и щастие в положителните мисловни нагласи и градивната сила на съзнанието.

“Maiden Voyage” — a “therapeutic” jazz jam with the Shrinks. The ineternational jazz band the Shrinks will present their new program of jazz classics and original music at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria on May 27 2011 as part of the Bulgarian Cultural Festival Celebrate Bulgaria in New York. For the last several years the band has performed exclusively in the New York area. Their program is a mixture of standards and modern jazz (Miles Davis, Carl Porter, Wes Montgomery, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard) and original tunes by band members. The Shrinks include Milan Patel – saxophone, Iliyan Ivanoc – guitar, Grant Jarrett – piano, Mattew Swan – bass, Daniel Gollin – drums. LANDSCAPES OF HOME is situated around the themes of place and displacement, location and mobility, settlement and return. The work examines the various locations within migrant landscapes and the ways in which they reflect and influence identities. Migration of people is everlasting process, examined through text, memories and interpreted with movement. The project is based on the social and cultural meanings of homeland and belonging. Inspired by personal stories, diaries, photographs, music, images and representations of movement, the migrants’ stories represent locality dynamics. The narratives of migration (shared, remembered, materialized) are visual and corporeal. They represent identity, individual expression, belonging and attachment, such as materials and objects of home. The dance compares narratives and counter-narratives in different contexts and examines their diversity through kinetic (dance) expression.

“Пейзажи на Дома” е танцова творба, ситуирана около темите за родно място и преместване, привързаност и мобилност, миграция и завръщане. Проектът разглежда различни опитности, които отразяват влияние на емигрантската идентичност. Миграцията се разглежда като непрекъснат процес, проследен чрез текст, снимки, лични вещи, спомени, дневници, музика, а локалните и житейски динамики са изтълкувани чрез движение. Проектът се основава на социалното и културно значение на родината и принадлежността. Разказите на емигрантите (споделени, спомнени, материализирани) са зрителни и веществени. Те сравняват наративи и контра-наративи в различен контекст и разглеждат разнообразието им чрез кинетично (танцово) изразяване.
